With the cold returning to the air, it's super exciting to get ready for all that that entails, like the fact Halloween is right around the corner!
While you get the decorations up, and get the your costume all prepped, you can get into the mindset of the spook with a good book!

1. The Amityville Horror
2. Dracula
3. R.L. Stine
4. Stephen King
5. Something Wicked This Way Comes
1. The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson

As far as scary goes, nothing is scary than knowing it's not fiction. The Amityville Horror, and it's movies, follows a family playing out the worst of all of our fears after they move into a new home with quite a history.
2. Dracula by Brom Stoker

A classic, but never to be underestimated, Brom Stoker's Dracula is the one that started it all. You can thank this piece of literature for some of the best fiction and movies that have come after.
3. R.L. Stein

A childhood in the 90s and 00s couldn't be complete without freaking yourself out over the Goosebumps series. Outside of his Goosebumps book, author R.L. Stine frights plenty of children and adults alike with his Fear Street series, his stand alone novels, and even his picture books. Great, often quick reads, from a little scary to sleeping with the lights on for the foreseeable future.
4. Stephen King (It)

Probably one of the most famous horror novels ever, The sheer size of the novel alone is quite daunting, but seeing the character of Pennywise the clown come to life on the movie screen will forever haunt me. This one will give you sleepless nights and have you running from the sewers, and balloons.
But if It isn't the kind of novel for you, picking up any of Stephen King's novels will make you regret picking up a Stephen King novel - in the best way.
5. Something Wicked This Way Comes

Don't be fooled by the cute cover, this novel isn't all that cute. Being a kid is hard enough, and in this novel growing up is both a weakness and a strength. Heroes are made in moments on this one.
Now, get to a library, and start reading! Happy Halloween!
