Doing Our Part - Hurricane Relief

It's impossible to not be effected by all of the things that are happening around the world. While it would be incredibly wonderful to be able to help out EVERYONE, I don't think any one person can.

But, together, I think we can help.

For the rest of the month of September, I pledge to give all of the proceeds of all sales on the Etsy shop to a Hurricane Relief. Specifically, I'll be looking into which one the next few days. After Irma, I sent the $10 donation to the Red Cross, but it already feels like that was so long ago.

Unfortunately, I am all too well aware of how long it takes for true recovery to begin. New Jersey was hit h a r d with Hurricane Sandy a few years back, and my home was beyond blessed that nothing happened. Friends and family, not so much.

But, things can be replaced. Buildings can be rebuilt. Smiles will come again.

Sometimes, it's hard to know how to help out. And it's beyond just food and water. People need medical attention, toiletries, blankets, shoes, toys and books. There are people who have literally lost everything. I sit here, surrounded by my stuff and pray for them. It's just stuff, but losing everything around you can be so mentally damaging. If I could just go and hold each and everyone in these areas...

And if you have any suggestions to which charity to donate, I'm all ears.
